Music Magazine LIIAR Analysis

Language -  The magazine uses both pink and blue as its primary colour scheme; this appeals to both genders and draws them in. However the content of the articles is more focused on females, with a some of the main focuses being on boys, and fashion. 
Ideology -  The magazine uses slang and promotes a very feminine attitude. This will attract the audience to get the magazine bought.
Institution -  Top of the Pops is a BBC branded magazine and Television, both about and playing pop music and the latest music in the charts.
Audience -The audience of this magazine would be teenagers, though predominantly female it would also attract males as well.  The use of slang means that  this young audience can connect to the magazine.  
Representation -  The magazine shows only attractive models/pictures in it, showing the boys to be topless and caught by paparazzi, or posing in a photo shoot. The creates a false representation of the celebrity artists and how they act.
Language -This magazine uses quite a lot of slang and collocations within the text, this is used to connect with the young audience it attracts. The use of simple colors has quite immature connotations, with the younger audience can connect with. The masthead of 'We love Pop' not only does it use a heart instead of the word love, and the use of the word 'we' gives the magazine personalisation that connects the magazine and the reader.
Ideology - The ideology created by this magazine promotes the quite heavy stereotypes of girls, with the focus of the magazine being 'Gossip, Fashion, Boys, Uncensored'
Institution - The magazine Masthead is We love pop, this instantly tells the reader what genre of music the magazine is about how they should love pop, from the use of the word we.
Audience- The audience of this magazine would be of young girls (10-15). The magazine heavily features boy-bands and  girls fashion, and the low price would make it a lot more Continent for younger unemployed people
Representation - The magazine has a quite stereotypical representation of girls, show how they can look better and attractive boys they should admire. The the models in the pictures all look directly towards the camera and at the reader connecting with them.


Language - The background and costume in the image both use a lot of pink. This suggests a quite feminine feeling, this also relates to the flowers which are used for this reason. The placement of the model is in front of the text, to show how important they are and how they are over the top of billboards everywhere. The magazine masthead is 'Billboard', this suggests that the artists inside are on billboards and quite popular.
Ideology - The ideology of the magazine is for it to get bought by people. It does this by using language to attract their target audience. They want to keep people up to date with a the biggest artists.
Institution - Billboard, The name Billboard tells us that these are the sort of artists you would see on big posters, and they are well known.
Audience - This magazine would be targeted towards a younger audience of teenagers to young adults (16-24) using light blue, yellow and pink which are all quite childish colours. They are also the main listeners to pop music
Representation - The use of flowers on the dress suggest how Katy Perry is quite happy and and pretty from the connotations of flowers and their colours. She is also stood a quite a innocent pose as well which suggests her vulnerability.
